| Nestled within the towering spires of the Drachault Mountains lies Dagaria, known by many the land of the Dragon-men. For centuries untold Dagaria has stood firm against the tides of darkness, maintaining their mighty empire through war, assassination and betrayal even while unspeakable forces lie just beyond their borders. So fierce are the people of Dagaria that rumor has it they are not truly human, for no human could stand against such foes in the midst of such strife and survive, much less thrive. The people of Dagaria do not dispute rumors of their lineage. Indeed, their ancestors are among the least of their concerns. Dagaria exists in a state of near-constant strife, the Kingdoms and Factions constantly vie for power and station while doing war upon each other for ancient grudges, real or imagined. At the center of this vortex is the Emperor, the singular ruler of Dagaria and the man who's life is most sought after. And yet, in spite of all of this, the Empire has thrived, its people always joining together to face down the dread daemons of the Rift and keeping them contained in the Bay of the Eye where they are spawned. Imperial Saga is an AU political war drama centered around a steampunk high mythology setting locked in constant internal strife. Players take the roles of great heroes, diplomats and spies as they command armies to do war upon the other kingdoms, discredit their foes in the imperial court and assassinate the Emperor so that they might take his place. In Imperial Saga, players have the ultimate power to shape the course of the setting. Players take the roles of the rulers of the Kingdom and even that of the Emperor as they vie for power and supremacy. However, an even greater threat lurks within the Empire in the form of the Rift, a horrible and tainted land from which crawl horrific daemons that seek to ravage the empire and slaughter its inhabitants. |
